Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for more than 20 years. She is well-known as a public speech writer. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency which is a website with videos and guest posts discussing the depictions of females in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic and blogger. Feminist Frequency is a site for education that examines women's role in the narratives of pop culture It is the brainchild of Anita Sarkeesian. Additionally, she serves as the executive director. Committed to deconstructing the stereotypes of women that have been portrayed in pop culture she also is a vocal advocate for issues relating to the targeted harassment of women and other marginalized classes of people in the online space. Sarkeesian, who holds the degree of Master's in Social and Political Thinking at York University, is a popular public speaker. She has delivered speeches at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group for Gender. Feminist Frequency was created on the 9th of September 2009 by Sarkeesian. an undergraduate student at York University who had been involved in topics that concern gender and feminism for quite a considerable period of time. A woman with ambitions to start a web-series examining the gender-based representation in video games was targeted in an internet-based campaign. The incident did not deter her, rather it strengthened her resolve as a feminist critic of media.
